About the Organization:
The Aseniwuche Development Corporation (ADC) is a wholly owned entity of the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation of Canada. The organization provides a range of industrial, and construction services to industry partners and the local community. ADC is committed to operational excellence, workplace safety, and creating employment and training opportunities for members of the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee the overall operations of ADC. Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the General Manager is responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring profitability, and fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to management teams across both organizations and will play a key role in aligning operations with the broader goals and values of the Aseniwuche Winewak Group of Companies.
Duties:
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement ADC business plan, annual budget, and operating budget and provide input ADC’s strategic plan to ensure that the company’s specific objectives are aligned with the overall vision, mission, and core values.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable performance across all business lines.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to management and supervisory staff to build internal capacity and enhance employee development.
- Ensure that the required organizational structure and staffing levels are in place for optimal performance of the organization’s current activities and projected future growth.
- Drive business development initiatives and foster relationships with clients, partners, and the community.
- Ensure major projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to client satisfaction.
- Encourage and facilitate communication between ADC and AEC leadership teams to build trust, enable cooperation, and improve information flow with a view to improving service delivery by eliminating duplication and overlapping of functions and tasks.
- Report on emerging issues, potential threats, risks, and significant opportunities to the CFO.
- Promote and model a strong safety culture across the organization.
- Manage budget, approve expenditures, and oversee financial performance.
- Prepare monthly reports and other information as required for presentation to the Board. Attend monthly Board meetings.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the President & CEO, the AWN Executive Director, and other partners to ensure alignment with AWN’s mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary degree in business administration, management, engineering or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of progressive senior management experience with a proven record of operational success.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in construction, oil & gas, or mining industries.
- Strong business acumen with proven ability to drive profitability and performance improvement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation’s culture and/or the Cree language is considered an asset.
Work Demands:
Mandatory Drug and Alcohol testing is a condition of employment.
Work Location: In person (Grand Cache, Alberta).
