November 23, 2020 AWN applied for $54,000.00 through the federal Indigenous Community Support Fund. On December 17, we learned we were approved for $23,600.00. These funds were allocated towards a second round of septic tank emptying service scheduled for the new year.
October 2020 AWN contracted SNB Steamers to perform septic emptying services for all the Co-operative and Enterprise residences.
September 2020 AWN staff and community member, Selena Moberly, started sewing 400 reusable cloth face masks to be distributed to community members.
July 23, 2020 AWN applied for $18,500.00 through Second Harvest FoodRescue.ca and were successful in our proposal.
June 16, 2020 AWN applied for $115,575.00 through the federal Indigenous Community Support Fund’s second round of funding. On June 26, 2020, we learned we would be awarded $50,000.00. We received the funds officially in October 2020.
May 15, 2020 Using contributions from industry partners, AWN staff delivered 40 care packages to Elders in the Cooperatives, Enterprises, and Nose Creek Settlement which included $100 gift cards to Co-op grocery store, drinking water, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and soap.
May 1, 2020 AWN supported three AWN families in need of Internet until the end of the school year.
April 20, 2020 AWN applied for $103, 235.50 through the FCSS Alberta Social Services Support Fund. Unfortunately, we learned on May 26, 2020 that the proposal was unsuccessful.
April 10, 2020 AWN applied for $119,945.00 through the federal Indigenous Community Support Fund. Unfortunately, we learned on May 19, 2020 that the proposal was unsuccessful.
April 8, 2020 Alberta Health Services (AHS) and AWN began meeting over the phone bi-weekly to touch base on COVID-related announcements, information, and resources to support the Aseniwuche Winewak community.
